A pre-race sample was taken from Tonk's Treasure.
Screen Shot was quick to begin. Typical Bekim was slow to begin.
Tonk's Treasure and Dorellie Love collided in the back straight, checking Tonk's Treasure. Tonk's Treasure lost ground from the second turn and finished tailed off. Screen Shot and Unrivalled Dusty collided in the home straight. Typical Bekim was uncompetitive throughout the event and finished tailed off.
Tonk's Treasure underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have moderate thumps and a back muscle injury. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.
Typical Bekim underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have minor spike wounds on both hind paws. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr C. Baker, the trainer of Typical Bekim, regarding its performance in this event. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Typical Bekim must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
