Steward's Report
Global Conflict and Quick Express were slow to begin. Backhand Basile and Nashville Nights collided soon after the start checking Backhand Basile. Nashville Nights galloped on the heels of Global Conflict approaching the first turn, causing both greyhounds to fall. Double The Faith and All Inn Mia collided on the first turn and again approaching the home turn. Admiral Arby raced wide approaching the home turn and again on the home turn. Double The Faith eased and collided with All Inn Mia on the home turn checking Double The Faith. Admiral Arby and Double The Faith raced wide entering the home straight and in the home straight.
Stewards delayed all clear after a bird was on the track in the home straight. After acting on Stewards observations, head on and side on footage Stewards gave all clear.
Global Conflict underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right ulna fracture. Global Confict was humanely euthanased.
Double The Faith underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right shoulder injury, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr Mark Giddings, regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Double The Faith was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Giddings pleaded guilty to the charge, Double The Faith must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Nashville Nights underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration to the left stifle region. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Following this event Stewards walked the track in the area where Global Conflict fell and cleared the track for racing.
A post-race sample was taken from Stride For Pride - the winner of the event.
