Steward's Report
Nessa's Bliss – Late scratching at 21.40 pm when Mrs A Dailly reported the greyhound to have wrist soreness (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
Fab's Excise, Hounding Me and Polly's Wilma was slow to begin
Hook Along Book and Tomassi collided soon after the start checking Tomassi and Hounding Me. Tomassi and Polly's Wilma collided approaching the first turn. Fab's Excise and Hook Along Book collided approaching the first turn checking Hook Along Book. Tomassi and Polly's Wilma collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Tomassi and Polly's Wilma collided on the home turn and again entering the home straight checking Tomassi, Polly's Wilma and Hounding Me. Ready turned its head outwards entering the home straight and collided with Fab's Excise. Tomassi checked off Polly's Wilma in the home straight. Hounding Me checked off Polly's Wilma in the home straight.
Ready underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left monkey muscle injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr J Formosa, regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Ready was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Formosa pleaded guilty to the charge, Ready must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
