Prince Vapour checked off Josh Milne on the first turn checking Elite Digger. Prince Vapour and Elite Digger collided on the first turn. Whirl Machine eased approaching the home turn. Allworth Girl, Sir Russ and Midnight Marvel collided approaching the home turn checking Midnight Marvel. Sir Russ and Midnight Marvel collided on the home turn. Midnight Marvel checked off Kellie Enlim in the home straight. Prince Vapour raced wide in the home straight.
Sir Russ was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained torn webbing to the right front paw. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Whirl Machine was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right hock, a 7 stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(5), the stewards charged Whirl Machine with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury) and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(6), before any future nomination will be accepted.
