Steward's Report
Crown Zindy- Late scratching at 2.00pm on the advice of the On-Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to a left quadriceps muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
The start of this event was delayed by approximately 1 minute to allow for the running of an interstate harness race.
Devil Den and Pyrenees Knight collided soon after the start, checking Pyrenees Knight. Deal's Up, Devil Den, Don's Scolari and Driving Me Nuts collided on the first turn, checking Devil Den and Don's Scolari and severely checking Pyrenees Knight; Deal's Up subsequently fell. Lunar Express and Black Zebrano collided entering the home straight. Driving Me Nuts and Black Zebrano collided entering the home straight. Lunar Express and Black Zebrano collided in the home straight, checking Black Zebrano. Driving Me Nuts and Lunar Express collided in the home straight. Driving Me Nuts, Lunar Express and Devil Den collided in the home straight, checking Lunar Express.
Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Howat, the trainer of Driving Me Nuts, which shifted in in the home straight. After speaking with Mr Howat and reviewing footage from the head-on camera, Stewards were satisfied that Driving Me Nuts did not ease or turn its head while shifting in and no further action was taken.
Deal's Up underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the left monkey muscle, left sartorius muscle and right triangle muscle. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
