Pharoah's Dream was quick to begin. Flying Sam, Kubla De Kahn, Agent Que and Almendra collided soon after the start. Almendra checked off Flying Sam and collided with Kubla De Kahn approaching the first turn. Almendra and Agent Que collided on the first turn checking Almendra. Agent Que and Kubla De Kahn collided several times approaching the home turn. Kubla De Kahn checked off Agent Que in the home straight. Pharoah's Dream checked off Lacarabine approaching the winning post.

Mepunga Remi finished 1st; Mother Hannah (pulled up shortly after the start), Tinker Billy finished 3rd.
Mepunga Remi – Was stood down from racing at Geelong for failing to chase due to injury. Weighing 29.5kgs and beginning from box 1 winning by 3.75L. Mepunga Remi has been cleared to race at all tracks.
Mother Hannah – Was stood down from racing at Geelong for failing to chase due to injury. Weighing 29.8kgs and beginning from box 3. Mother Hannah pulled up shortly after the start and failed to finish the trial. Mother Hannah was not cleared.
Tinker Billy – Performed a Stewards Satisfactory Trial as the greyhound has not competed in an event for in excess of six months. Weighing 29.1kgs and beginning from box 7, Tinker Billy completed the 400m trial distance in a time of 23.51. Tinker Billy placed 3rd in a field of 4 starters beaten by 15.5L. Tinker Billy has not been cleared to race due to the greyhound not taking a competitive part from the half way stage of the trial.
