A pre-race sample was taken from Shy Diva.
Manila Mist and Golden Aura were slow to begin. Shy Diva, Chook Richards and Smoke And Embers collided soon after the start checking Chook Richards. Shy Diva and Broken Pieces collided approaching the first turn. Smoke And Embers brushed the running rail approaching the home turn. Golden Aura faltered on the home turn and tailed off. Broken Pieces, Shy Diva and Chook Richards raced wide in the home straight. Manila Mist lost ground approaching the winning post.
Manila Mist underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a a right triangle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Golden Aura underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock fracture. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.
