Captive Prince and Angel's Halo were quick to begin. Guevara, Big Barra and Black Rose Texas collided soon after the start checking Guevara. Angel's Halo, Ragged Warrior and Northern Moon collided approaching the first turn checking Big Barra. Black Rose Texas and Big Barra collided approaching the first turn checking Black Rose Texas. Guevara galloped on the heels of Black Rose Texas approaching the first turn severely checking both greyhounds. Ragged Warrior, Angel's Halo and Northern Moon collided on the first turn checking northern Moon which collided with Big Barra.
