Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Axle Whelan.
Nicholas Rose was slow to begin. Top Gem and Mepunga Bonnie collided soon after the start checking Top Gem; Top Gem subsequently tailed off. Mepunga Billy and Axle Whelan collided soon after the start. Tansy checked off Mepunga Bonnie approaching the home turn. Mepunga Bonnie, Mepunga Billy and Axle Whelan collided approaching the home turn checking Axle Whelan.
Top Gem underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back muscle injury. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Natural Cruiser - the winner of the event.
