Lektra Lyrebird, Lektra Style and Moraine Rosie were quick to begin. Cudgee's Jayne was slow to begin.
Illicit checked off the heels of Lektra Style on the first turn. Moraine Rosie galloped on the heels of Illicit on the first turn, checking Illicit.
Illicit underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left foreleg monkey muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
