Track Curator Mr. Rob Phillips advised that the track was lightly harrowed on Monday, 27th Jan 2020.

In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 33.0 degrees and the kennel temperature was 19.3 degrees. 

During kennelling Stewards conducted a carpark check on all trainers’ vehicles engaged in today’s meeting. Stewards were satisfied that all transport had adhered to the GRV Hot Weather Policy and the GRV Transportation of Greyhounds Policy.

Hard At It was slow to begin.

Zipping Pink and Nonna Josie collided soon after the start checking Nonna Josie. Unknown Warrior checked off Will Do approaching the first turn and again on the first turn. Aston Leomie and Will Do collided on the first turn checking Aston Leomie. Nonna Josie checked off Hard At It approaching the home turn. Aston Leomie faltered approaching the home turn and tailed off as a result. Unknown Warrior checked off Will Do entering the home straight.

Nonna Josie underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. 

Aston Leomie underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 4. Aston Leomie was found to have injuries to the left and right hind pencil muscles and right hind fibula. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

A post-race sample was taken from Zipping Pink - the winner of the event.

All Over Jack crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Supreme Apple, Vin Joel and Cosmic Yani. Vin Joel contacted the running rail approaching the first turn severely checking Vin Joel. All Over Jack and Cruising Ruby collided on the first turn checking All Over Jack. Cosmic Yani raced wide in the entering the home straight. Cruising Ruby and Speed Twin collided several times in the home straight and approaching the winning post checking Cruising Ruby.

After reviewing the head on footage, Stewards determined Cruising Ruby and Speed Twin collided several times in the home straight, checking Cruising Ruby approaching the winning post.

Vin Joel underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have abrasions to the left hind leg. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Frisky Den was slow to begin.

Zipping Fergus and Dust Storm collided soon after the start checking Dust Storm. Taciana, Golden Charm and Zipping Fergus collided soon after the start checking Taciana and Golden Charm. Lektra Midnight checked off Zipping Fergus approaching the first turn. Zipping Fergus, Lektra Shadow and Wolf's Ace collided approaching the home turn checking Lektra Shadow and Wolf's Ace. Golden Charm and Frisky Den collided approaching the home turn checking Golden Charm. Wolf's Ace raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight. Taciana and Dust Storm collided in the home straight checking Dust Storm. Dust Storm raced wide in the home straight colliding with Lektra Midnight, checking both greyhounds.

Lektra Midnight underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported

Chips An' Cheese, Lizzie's Entity and Abelero Bale collided soon after the start checking Lizzie's Entity and Abelero Bale. Lethal Image and Aston Lightning collided approaching the first turn checking Lethal Image. Lizzie's Entity checked off Aston Lightning on the first turn. Aston Lightning and Lizzie's Entity collided on the home turn checking Aston Lightning. Lethal Image galloped on the heels of Aston Lightning in the home straight.

Kissable and Miss Never Mind collided approaching the first turn checking Kissable. Miss Never Mind, Burning Eddy, Gentleman Thief and Sanjiro collided approaching the first turn checking Burning Eddy and severely checking Miss Never Mind. Gentleman Thief checked off Sanjiro on the first turn checking Sergeant Schultz and Kissable. Miss Never Mind raced wide on the home turn.

Miss Never Mind underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. 

At the conclusion of race 5 the outside tempreture was 28.1 degrees, in accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, Stewards removed the policy for the remainder of the meeting.

Why Not Paps and Mario Vest Only collided on the first turn checking Mario Vest Only and Vital Force. Big Brebler checked off Tickle My Fancy approaching the home turn checking O'Sullivan, Mario Vest Only and Vital Force. Cruisy's Rose raced wide on the home turn checking Vital Force. Tickle My Fancy and Why Not Paps raced wide in the home straight.

Bayside Bourbski and Battered Sav were quick to begin.

Aston Gwen and Bayside Bourbski collided approaching the first turn checking Bayside Bourbski and Battered Sav. Superstitious and Aston Gwen collided on the first turn checking Aston Gwen. Bayside Bourbski galloped on the heels of Aston Gwen approaching the home turn. Battered Sav checked off Aston Gwen on the home turn. Artic Assassin raced wide entering the home straight checking Battered Sav.

This event was delayed by approximately 2 minutes to hold for a gallops event in Perth.

Lagoon Rhett was quick to begin. Cawbourne Scar and Notorious were slow to begin.

Kentucky Sun and Onions O'Reilly collided approaching the first turn checking Onions O'Reilly. Cawbourne Scar, Little Tubbsy and Rixy Ya Pest collided approaching the first turn checking Little Tubbsy which contacted the running rail and tailed off as a result. Notorious and Tripple Double collided entering the home straight checking both greyhounds.

Little Tubbsy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hindleg hock injury. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Oh Suzie, Negan and Cawbourne Mimma collided approaching the first turn checking Negan and Cawbourne Mimma. Cryptic and Cawbourne Mimma collided on the first turn checking Cryptic and Oh Suzie. Bitter Dash, Aston Genesis, Zambora Lulu and Cherokee Cat collided on the first turn checking Aston Genesis, Zambora Lulu and Cherokee Cat. Cherokee Cat checked off Cawbourne Mimma in the home straight.
