Steward's Report

Track Curator Mr. Rob Phillips advised that the track was lightly harrowed on Monday, 27th Jan 2020.

In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 33.0 degrees and the kennel temperature was 19.3 degrees. 

During kennelling Stewards conducted a carpark check on all trainers’ vehicles engaged in today’s meeting. Stewards were satisfied that all transport had adhered to the GRV Hot Weather Policy and the GRV Transportation of Greyhounds Policy.

Hard At It was slow to begin.

Zipping Pink and Nonna Josie collided soon after the start checking Nonna Josie. Unknown Warrior checked off Will Do approaching the first turn and again on the first turn. Aston Leomie and Will Do collided on the first turn checking Aston Leomie. Nonna Josie checked off Hard At It approaching the home turn. Aston Leomie faltered approaching the home turn and tailed off as a result. Unknown Warrior checked off Will Do entering the home straight.

Nonna Josie underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. 

Aston Leomie underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 4. Aston Leomie was found to have injuries to the left and right hind pencil muscles and right hind fibula. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

A post-race sample was taken from Zipping Pink - the winner of the event.
