Steward's Report

In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 31.1 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18 degrees. 

A pre-race sample was taken from It's Happening.

Rock Me Nicholas and It's Happening were slow to begin.

Rock Me Nicholas and Ryder Patrol collided approaching the first turn checking Rock Me Nicholas.  Ryder Patrol checked off Electric Mick on the first turn. It's Happening galloped on Big Bash Punter on the first turn checking It's Happening, Ryder Patrol and severely checking Big Bash Punter, Diamond Lady and Rock Me Nicholas, Big Bash Punter and Rock Me Nicholas lost considerable ground as a result.  Rock Me Nicholas and Big Bash Punter collided on the home turn checking Big Bash Punter.

Big Bash Punter underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left fibula injury.  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
