Newtown Angel was slow to begin.
Just Faith, Newtown Angel and Mr. Changretta collided soon after the start checking Newtown Angel. Mr. Changretta and Just Faith collided approaching the first turn checking Just Faith. Lektra Miss and Mindy's Girl collided on the first turn checking Lektra Miss. Lektra Miss faltered on the first turn and lost considerable ground. Mindy's Girl and Let's Roll collided on the first turn checking Let's Roll.
Lektra Miss underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back muscle injury. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.
