Steward's Report
Mr Douglas Condon was fined $50 for failing to ensure the registration card was produced for the greyhound Reco Tonic pursuant to GAR 33.
Uncle Rico, Reco Tonic and Sprite Halo collided soon after the start. Sprite Halo turned its head inwards and visibly eased from the 50m mark to the winning post.
Sprite Halo underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right wrist injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr John Coburn, regarding the greyhounds racing manners from the 50m mark to the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Sprite Halo was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Coburn pleaded guilty to the charge, Sprite Halo must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Sprite Halo - the winner of the event.
