In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'.  At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 22 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.0 degrees. 

Stewards dispensed with the provisions of the Hot Weather Policy at 5:45 pm, due to the temperature being recorded significantly lower than 32 degrees.

Claretown Trixie underwent a veterinary examination prior to racing and was passed fit to race.

Claretown Trixie underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left foreleg monkey muscle, right hindleg quadriceps muscle and a left foreleg torn nail injuries.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Acting in accordance with the GRV Lightning and Thunderstorm Safety Procedure, racing was suspended at 8:22 pm due to continuous lightning strikes within the designated safety zone around the Warrnambool venue, which then caused a bank of track lights to go out and further delaying races.  Due to safety concerns the meeting was delayed by 19 minutes and races re-scheduled accordingly.  All races were amended to the following times: Race 8 - 8:57 pm, Race 9 - 9:28 pm, Race 10 - 9:49 pm, Race 11 - 10:05 pm and Race 12 - 10:25 pm.

Cassius Monelli - Late scratching at 9:42 pm on the advice of the On-Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to dehydration.  A five day stand down period was imposed.
