Steward's Report
Jaro Bale and Keeper Of Keys were slow to begin. Kraken Dust, Up And About, Rajasthan and Bourbski Bar collided on the first turn checking Keeper Of Keys, Up And About and Bourbski Bar, causing Red Rock to race wide. Weblec Eagle brushed the running rail on the first turn. Weblec Eagle and Rajasthan collided approaching the second turn checking Rajasthan. Jaro Bale and Rajasthan collided approaching the home turn. Jaro Bale and Kraken Dust collided approaching the home turn. Jaro Bale, Rajasthan and Weblec Eagle collided on the home turn checking all three greyhounds, causing Up And About to race wide. Jaro Bale tired in the home straight.
Jaro Bale underwent a post race veterinary examination after it performed below market expectations and was re-examined after race 11. Jaro Bale was found to have an injured right triangle muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Ms. Andrea Dailly the trainer of Jaro Bale regarding the greyhound's poor performance. Ms. Dailly stated that in her opinion Jaro Bale failed to run the 650 metre distance. Stewards noted Ms. Dailly's explanation and directed that a sample be taken.
A post race sample was taken from Kraken Dust - winner of the event and Weblec Eagle - second placegetter in the event.
