A pre-race sample was taken from Debbie's Destiny.
Chop Suey and Miss Potential collided soon after the start checking Miss Potential. Debbie's Destiny, Chop Suey and Miss Potential collided on the first turn checking Chop Suey. Miss Potential and Mrs. Sharp collided approaching the second the turn. Miss Potential checked off Mrs. Sharp entering the back straight. Debbie's Destiny and Mrs. Sharp collided in the back straight checking Mrs. Sharp. Debbie's Destiny checked off Facing The Music approaching the home turn checking Mrs. Sharp and Saint Destructor. Debbie's Destiny and Mrs. Sharp collided on the home turn checking Debbie's Destiny. Chop Suey and Saint Destructor collided entering the home straight. Miss Potential visibly eased in the home straight.
Miss Potential underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left and right deltoids, left sartorius injuries and a laceration to the left knee. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr S. Ralph, the representative of Miss Potential regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Miss Potential was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Ralph pleaded guilty to the charge, Miss Potential is suspended for 3 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(b) before any future nomination will be accepted.
