In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 36.7 degrees and the kennel temperature was 19 degrees. 

During kennelling Stewards conducted a carpark check on all trainers’ vehicles engaged in today’s meeting. Stewards were satisfied that all transport had adhered to the GRV Hot Weather Policy and the GRV Transportation of Greyhounds Policy.

Ashby Swift and Ellias Bale were quick to begin. 

Rockstar Carmody and Polly's Xyra collided soon after the start, checking Polly's Xyra and Jagger's Joss.  Rockstar Brass and Polly's Xyra collided approaching the first turn, checking Polly's Ariana. Rockstar Carmody, Ellias Bale and Rockstar Gareth collided on the first turn, checking Ellias Bale.  Rockstar Carmody checked off Rockstar Gareth on the  home turn.  Rockstar Gareth and Rockstar Carmody raced wide in the home straight. 

Following this event, the Stewards delayed declaring ”All Cear“ to view all available footage. It was observed that the rug of Ellias Bale had shifted, whilst further review showed the rug shift had occurred shortly after box rise. Kennel CCTV footage of Ellias Bale in the kenneling area prior to the event indicated that the race-rug of Ellias Bale was fitted correctly. Stewards also spoke to the handler of Ellias Bale, Mr. S. Coulson and Steward Ms. A. Fewell who confirmed that the rug was placed correctly prior to boxing the greyhound. The Stewards were of the opinion that the rug of Ellias Bale had shifted once the greyhound was boxed and was in no way faulty. Pursuant to GAR 56, the Stewards were of the opinion that Ellias Bale was not materially affected by the occurrence and the All Clear was given on the Judge's numbers 4, 1, 5 and 6.

Nancy Might, Needs A Rocket and Charmed were quick to begin. 

Kaya's Pearl checked off Needs A Rocket soon after the start.  Sailing Shoes and Unknown Warrior collided soon after the start, checking Unknown Warrior. Needs A Rocket checked off Nancy Might approaching the first turn.  Nancy Might, Ashby Star and Silent Oscar collided on the first turn, checking Nancy Might, Ashby Star, Sailing Shoes and Needs A Rocket causing Silent Oscar and Unknown Warrior to fall.  Nancy Might and Needs A Rocket collided approaching the home turn, checking Needs A Rocket.  Kaya's Pearl, Nancy Might and Needs A Rocket raced wide in the home straight. 

Unknown Warrior underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. 

Silent Oscar underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

Rockstar Gately and Fab's Vera were slow to begin.  

Rossington and Lizzie's Entity collided soon after the start, checking Rossington.  Rockstar Lincoln and Lizzie's Entity collided approaching the first turn, checking Lizzie's Entity.  Rockstar Lincoln and Rockstar Stanley collided on the first turn, checking Rockstar Lincoln and Lizzie's Entity.  Rockstar Stanley checked off Elvisa Bale approaching the home turn.  Rossington and Lizzie's Entity collided approaching the home turn, checking Lizzie's Entity. 

Lzzie's Entity underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound left hind foot. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Shima Boom was slow to begin. 

Flying Zara crossed to the running rail soon after the start, checking Weblec Wizz, Favour and Angie Ling.  Flying Zara checked off Beguile on the first turn.  Angie Ling and Favour collided on the first turn, checking Favour.  Flying Zara contacted the running rail on the first turn, checking Flying Zara and Weblec Wizz; Flying Zara stumbled as a result.  Favour galloped on the heels of Weblec Wizz approaching the home turn, checking Flying Zara.  Favour checked off Flying Zara approaching the winning post. 

Flying Zara underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left hindleg shin soreness and an abrasion to the head, right foreleg and left hindleg. A five day stand down period was imposed.

Callister was quick to begin.  Muscogee and Kissable were slow to begin.

Kratos went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin.  Gardener's Boyo went up with the lids at box rise.

Looming Lara and Reiko Houdini collided soon after the start. Gardener's Boyo checked off Looming Lara on the first turn. Cell Block Tango and Euro Marsh collided on the first turn, checking Euro Marsh.  Looming Lara and Thomeli Monster collided on the first turn, checking Looming Lara, Thomeli Monster and Kratos. Thomeli Monster, Cell Block Tango and Euro Marsh collided on the second turn, checking Cell Block Tango. Omar Little and Euro Marsh collided on the third turn, checking Omar Little. Bayside Bourbski and Alcott collided approaching the home turn, checking Alcott and Brady's Shout.  Entranced checked off Bayside Bourbski on the home turn.  Bayside Bourbski and Alcott collided on the home turn, checking Alcott, Gypsy's Mindy and Butter Puddin'.  Alcott and Butter Puddin' collided in the home straight, checking Alcott. 

Alcott underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left hind foot. No stand down period was imposed.
