Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Always Near was slow to begin.  Jaggered, Lilly Galore and Keybow Sally collided soon after the start, checking Lilly Galore.  Jaggered and Keybow Sally collided approaching the first turn, checking Jaggered.  Always Near galloped on the heels of Black Booker approaching the first turn, checking Black Booker.  Brazen King and Six Big Boys collided in the home straight, checking both greyhounds.  Rona Express tired over the concluding stages.  It was noted that the muzzle of Brazen King became partially dislodged during the running of the event.

Emerald Galore was slow to begin.

Scar Queen checked off Shift Change soon after the start.  Yellow And Black galloped on Scar Queen approaching the first turn, checking Scar Queen.  He's A Geezer galloped on Supercross on the first turn, checking He's A Geezer, Supercross, Lara Diamond, Scar Queen and Yellow And Black.  He's A Geezer and Scar Queen collided on the home turn and again entering the home straight, checking both greyhounds.

Rock On Jimmy checked off Fugacious approaching the first turn.

Wolf's Ace was slow to begin.

Slingshot Pete galloped on Last Shot on the first turn, checking Slingshot Pete, Last Shot, Quade Bale, Wolf's Ace and Fab Nine.  Barellen Pearl raced wide approaching the home turn.  Miss Zeus checked off Barellen Pearl on the home turn.  Wolf's Ace and Fab Nine collided in the home straight.  Quade Bale and Last Shot collided approaching the winning post.

Barellen Pearl underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the right hind foot.  No stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr J Weir-Smith after it was established that he momentarily placed the greyhound Last Shot in the incorrect box at the start of the event, before the issue was noticed and rectified.  Stewards took evidence from Mr Weir-Smith and the Steward at the start.  After considering all the evidence, Mr Weir-Smith was fined $100 for negligence under GAR 86(o).  In determining penalty, Stewards were mindful that the incident was quickly detected by the Steward at the start and did not cause a significant disruption to the boxing process or unduly delay the start of the event.

Dee Nine, Mepunga Doyle, Mum's The Word and Johnny Wishbone collided soon after the start, checking Mepunga Doyle and Mum's The Word.  Mepunga Doyle and Mum's The Word collided approaching the first turn.  Have A Roadie and Johnny Wishbone collided on the first turn.  Mum's The Word raced wide on the home turn.  Chiquita Lass and Have A Roadie collided entering the home straight and again in the home straight.  Ice Cold Yug, Johnny Wishbone and Have A Roadie collided approaching the winning post.

After viewing the head-on footage of the home straight, Stewards took no action against the racing manners of Chiquita Lass.

Abby's Star was quick to begin.  Railway Burra and Taltarni Black collided soon after the start.  Abby's Star and Red Taltarni collided approaching the first turn.  Red Taltarni checked off Hatters Lane on the first turn.  Hatters Lane raced wide on the home turn.

Rave On, Untold Soldier and Kraken Tex collided soon after the start.  My Name's Barry, Amigo Two and Magic Lantern collided approaching the first turn, checking Amigo Two.  Rave On, Untold Soldier and Kraken Lightning collided on the first turn, checking Rave On and Kraken Tex.  Kraken Lightning and My Name's Barry collided approaching the home turn.  Magic Lantern raced wide on the home turn.

Charlie Checker was quick to begin.

Aston Zephyr checked off Regal Missile on the first turn.  Regal Missile and Barefoot Barry collided approaching the home turn, checking Regal Missile, Barefoot Barry, Sizzlin' Sanchez and Aston Zephyr.  Debbie's Destiny and Regal Missile collided on the home turn and again in the home straight.  Sizzlin' Sanchez checked off Debbie's Destiny in the home straight.

Crackerjack Nash went up with the lids at box rise.  Annie My Mate and Saffron Lace collided on the first turn, checking Annie My Mate.  Saffron Lace checked off Our Brinni on the first turn, checking Tiger's Twenty and Annie My Mate.  Plumber and Our Brinni collided on the first turn, checking Our Brinni.

Crackerjack Nash underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

Crown Knox was slow to begin.

Cudgee's Jayne checked off Kurtlee Bale on the first turn, checking Two Up Thommo.  Mizuki Rose checked off Weblec Bliss on the first turn, checking Cudgee's Jayne, Simmo Gogolac and Crown Knox.  Two Up Thommo and Kurtlee Bale collided entering the home straight, checking Kurtlee Bale.  Kurtlee Bale tired over the concluding stages of the event.

Super Big and Aston Logic collided on the first turn, checking Super Big.  Ava's Choice, Aston Logic, Super Big and Winlock Newbolt collided approaching the home turn, checking all four greyhounds.  Super Big and Winlock Newbolt collided entering the home straight.

Solar Tiny underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 12.  Solar Tiny was found to have a spike wound to the left hind foot and left hindleg back muscle injuries.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Victor Millington, the trainer of Solar Tiny, regarding its performance in the home straight.  Taking into consideration the injury the greyhound sustained in the event Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Solar Tiny must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Eaglehawk Miss - Late scratching at 2:09 pm on the advice of the On-Track Veterinarian (GAR 37), due to a sprain to the right wrist.  A seven day stand down period was imposed. 

Kentucky Sun underwent a veterinary examination prior to racing and was passed fit to race.

Kentucky Sun was quick to begin.  Crackerjack Scot, Cryer's Spring and Maximum Jodie collided approaching the first turn.  Don's Scolari and Crackerjack Scot collided on the first turn, checking both greyhounds.  Cryer's Spring galloped on Maximum Jodie on the first turn, checking Cryer's Spring, Maximum Jodie and Crackerjack Scot.

Maximum Jodie underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

Fast Trapper underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right foreleg nail injury.  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
