Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Swift Current.
Headwill was slow to begin.
Cursed, Swift Current and Quillan Bale collided on the first turn checking Quillan Bale and severely checking Swift Current. Cursed, Lance Link and Gotta Place collided approaching the home turn checking Lance Link. Qullan Bale galloped on Dove's Cry on the home turn checking Swift Current and severely checking Dove's Cry and Quillan Bale. Cursed turned it's head inwards and marred Lucille Dior approaching the winning post checking Lucille Dior and Gotta Place.
Stewards spoke to Mr. T. Anlezark, the trainer of Cursed regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Mr. T. Anlezark declined to have the greyhound vetted following the event. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Cursed was charged with marring. Mr. Anlezark pleaded guilty to the charge, Cursed is suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Dove's Cry underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have minor spike wounds to both hind legs. No stand down period was imposed.
Lance Link underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have split webbing to the left rear paw. A 21 stand down period was imposed.
