Steward's Report

A pre-race sample was taken from Steorra.

Don's Scolari and Pyrenees Steele were slow to begin.

Great Success and Cryer's Harper collided on the first turn.  Stoerra and Don's Scolari collided on the first turn, checking Stoerra.  Perfect Chase and Ice Cold Yug collided approaching the home turn, checking Perfect Chase.  Ice Cold Yug and Kentucky Sun collided approaching the home turn.  Cryer's Harper and Kentucky Sun collided on the home turn.  Don's Scolari checked off Ice Cold Yug in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Quinn after it was established that he attempted to place the greyhound Don's Scolari in the incorrect box at the start of the event, before the issue was noticed and rectified. Stewards took evidence from Mr. Quinn and the Steward at the start. After considering all the evidence, Mr. Quinn was fined $100 for negligence under GAR 86(o). In determining penalty, Stewards were mindful that the incident was quickly detected by the Steward at the start and did not cause a significant disruption to the boxing process or unduly delay the start of the event.
