Steward's Report
Ride Along and Serengeti Icon collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Stellar Rising visibly eased on the first turn. Special Drop checked off Eddie in the back straight checking Stellar Rising, Blue Shadows and Ride Along. Serengeti Icon checked off Quattro Miss on the second turn.
Stellar Rising underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have soreness in both hips, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Walter Methven, regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Stellar Rising was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Methven pleaded guilty to the charge, Stellar Rising must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Serengeti Icon- the winner of the event.
