Steward's Report
Couture and Vigorous were slow to begin. Vigorous checked off Why Not Luv soon after the start checking Sprightly Bro. Couture, Vigorous and Sprightly Bro collided on the first turn checking Couture and Vigorous. Why Not Luv and Baby Eden collided on the first turn. Moraine Rosie checked off Run Baba Run on the first turn checking Why Not Luv. Baby Eden checked off Why Not Luv entering the back straight. Moraine Rosie checked off Why Not Luv in the back straight. Couture checked off Vigorous on the third turn and again on the home turn. Moraine Rosie marred the running of Sprightly Bro in the home straight checking Baby Eden in turn severely checking Sprightly Bro.
Moraine Rosie underwent a post-race veterinary examination. It was reported the greyhound sustained injuries to the right calf, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. S Elsum, the trainer of Moraine Rosie regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Moraine Rosie was charged with marring. Mr. S Elsum pleaded guilty to the charge. Moraine Rosie is suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
