Silver Man was very slow to begin (2L).
Silver Man crossed to the rails soon after the start. Cocoon, Up And About and Monster Machine collided approaching the first turn. Up And About and Monster Machine collided on the first turn. Just Burning and Molly Coaster collided approaching the second turn. Cocoon checked off Up And About in the back straight. Shanlyn Georgie, Molly Coaster, Handsome and Up And About collided in the home straight. Shanlyn George, Just Burning and Molly Coaster collided approaching the winning post checking Shanlyn Georgie. Up And About eased and collided with Handsome approaching the winning post.
Up And About underwent a post-race veterinary examination. It was reported the greyhound sustained soreness to the right wrist, no stand down penalty was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer, Gerrard O'Keefe, regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Up And About was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. O'Keefe pleaded guilty to the charge. Up And About must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Monster Machine underwent a post-race veterinary examination. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
