Saint Ray was quick to begin.
First Order, Foul Snooker and Black Lazarus collided approaching the first turn, checking Foul Snooker and Black Lazarus. First Order checked off Fast Trapper approaching the home turn. Foul Snooker and Black Lazarus collided on the first turn, checking Black Lazarus. Foul Snooker, First Order and Dashing Pedro collided on the first turn, checking First Order and Dashing Pedro. Fast Trapper checked off Saint Ray approaching the home turn. Black Lazarus checked off Dashing Pedro on the home turn. Black Lazarus raced wide on the home turn. Saint Ray and Foul Snooker collided in the home straight, checking Foul Snooker.
Black Lazarus underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right foreleg monkey muscle injury. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Meeting comments:
Stewards opened and finalised an inquiry from the Geelong Greyhound Racing Club Meeting on Friday, 15th November 2019 where registered Trainer, Mr Troy Scott failed to retrieve the greyhound Fonzarelli, engaged in Race 11, prior to leaving the course. After taking evidence, Stewards charged Mr Scott pursuant to GAR 86 (o) with the particulars of the charge being, that he left the course before retrieving the greyhound Fonzarelli, which in the opinion of the Stewards, was negligent. Mr Scott pleaded guilty to the charge. Mr Scott was found guilty and was fined the sum of $200, $100 of which was suspended for twelve months, pending no further breaches. In assessing penalty, Stewards took into account Mr Scott's guilty plea, his record and his personal circumstances on the night.
