A pre-race sample was taken from Bound To Succeed.
Slingshot Spirit was quick to begin. Aston Moscato was slow to begin.
Dream Wizard and Love Heart collided soon after the start, checking Love Heart. Slingshot Spirit and Bound To Succeed collided soon after the start, checking Bound To Succeed. Dream Wizard, Gotham Duke and Bound To Succeed collided approaching the first turn, checking Gotham Duke and severely checking Mist and Bound To Succeed. Gotham Duke and Typhoon Bolt collided entering the home straight. Dream Wizard visibly eased in the home straight.
Mist underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Dream Wizard underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a triceps lateral injury to right foreleg and a right thigh injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr. S. Lithgow regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Dream Wizard was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury. Mr. S. Lithgow pleaded guilty to the charge, Dream Wizard must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
