Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff, at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Running The Wind was quick to begin.  Cherokee Twist and Midnight Express were slow to begin.

Big Bash Army crossed in soon after the start checking Cherokee Twist.  Midnight Express crossed to the rails soon after the start checking Cherokee Twist.  Shrek's Rose and Joyful collided on the first turn.  Forcefully checked off Joyful approaching the second turn.  Big Bash Army and Joyful collided entering the back straight checking Joyful and Cherokee Twist.  Joyful and Cherokee Twist collided on the third turn and again approaching the home turn.  Big Bash Army and Forcefully collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Big Bash Army, Forcefully and Midnight Express collided on the home turn.  

Stewards spoke to Mr.J.Jarkis, the trainer of Joyful regarding the significant market support for the greyhound.  Mr.Jarkis stated that Joyful was still learning and he did expect that she would improve after her first run last week.  Mr.Jarkis informed Stewards that he was unaware of where the market support came from and that he did not support the greyhound himself.  Stewards accepted Mr.Jarkis' explanation and directed a post-race sample be taken from the greyhound.
