Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff, at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Stewards spoke to Mr.J.Jarkis, the trainer of Joyful regarding the significant market support for the greyhound.  Mr.Jarkis stated that Joyful was still learning and he did expect that she would improve after her first run last week.  Mr.Jarkis informed Stewards that he was unaware of where the market support came from and that he did not support the greyhound himself.  Stewards accepted Mr.Jarkis' explanation and directed a post-race sample be taken from the greyhound.

Rezzie's Choice, Tinsel Doll and Oriental Rain collided soon after the start.  Mepunga Mila crossed to the rails soon after the start and collided with Capra.  Oriental Rain checked off Capra soon after the start.  Tinsel Doll and Oriental Rain collided approaching the first turn.  Oriental Rain, Tinsel Doll and Rezzie's Choice collided on the first turn.  Oriental Rain and Tinsel Doll collided approaching the second turn.  Mepunga Mila checked off Capra approaching the second turn; Mepunga Mila fell as a result.

Mepunga Mila underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to left monkey muscle, right thigh muscle, spike wound to the left foreleg and a laceration to the right bicep.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

It's A Shadow checked off Spark Joy soon after the start.  Freakish Talent, Dark Jedi and Spark Joy collided on the first turn severely checking Freakish Talent which lost ground.  Ride Along checked off Spark Joy on the first turn.  Spark Joy and It's A Shadow collided approaching the second turn.

Freakish Talent underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have spike wounds to the right foreleg webbing and the right hind leg.  A 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Patrick Newell, the trainer of Freakish Talent regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn.  Mr.Newell stated that he believes the greyhound became unbalanced after suffering interference. After viewing all available race footage of the incident and taking Mr.Newell's statement into consideration Stewards issued a warning regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn.

In accordance with LR 22 Mr Matthew Marshall was issued with a warning regarding his non-compliance with the GRV Dress Code.

Jugungal Black and Milly Mac collided soon after the start.  Dreamy Eyes crossed to the rail soon after the start and collided with Milly Mac.  Milly Mac checked off Nicmac Paddywack on the first turn checking Jugungal Black.  Shadows No More and Nothin' To Lose collided approaching the second turn checking both greyhounds; causing Shadows No More to race wide and collide with Dreamy Eyes.  Milly Mac checked off Nicmac Paddywack on the second turn; causing Milly Mac and Looby Sky to collide.  Milly Mac, Looby Sky, Dreamy Eyes and Shadows No More collided entering the back straight.  Dreamy Eyes checked off Shadows No More on the third turn.
