Steward's Report
Astro Naughton – Late scratching at 6.43pm by order of Stewards as uncertainty existed as to the identity of the greyhound pursuant to GAR 25(e)(ii). In accordance with GAR 25 (3), Astro Naughton is prohibited from competing in any Event until such time as the Stewards are satisfied as to the correct identity of that greyhound. Owner/Handler Mr. S. Kaliszewski was fined $250 under GAR 31(1) for failing to present the correct greyhound to the Stewards at kennelling, in accordance with the specific identification particulars recorded for Astro Naughton.
Nero Bale and Grand Kylie collided approaching the home turn. Nero Bale checked off Buzz Out in the home straight.
A post-race sample was taken from Mystic Rose - the winner of the event.
Supplementary Report: 2 May 2020 - The matter regarding the bonafides of Astro Naughton was resolved on 1 May 2020. Due to the circumstances surrounding the commision of the offence, the penalty issued to Mr Kaliszewski was suspended pending no further non-presentation issues within 3 months from 22 Aprl 2020. Astro Naughton is now free to be nominated.
