Steward's Report
Shifting Sands – Late scratching at 9.26am when trainer Mr.S.Melville reported the greyhound to have an illness (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
Flashy De Goey was quick to begin.
Don's Scolari crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Lady Bang Bang. Black Beauty and Lightwood Lass collided on the first turn checking Lightwood Lass. Kroos and Flashy De Goey collided approaching the second turn. Flashy De Goey checked off Lady Bang Bang on the third turn. Flashy De Goey veered in and marred Don's Scolari approaching the winning post.
After reviewing all available vision and in particular the head on footage, Stewards spoke to Mr I. Ognjenovic the trainer of Flashy De Goey regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Flashy De Goey was charged with marring. Mr Ognjenovic pleaded guilty to the charge, Flashy De Goey is suspended for 28 days at Sandown and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Don's Scolari - the winner of the event.
