Valita and Zipping Dusty were slow to begin. Aston Squire went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin.

Down Mexico Way and Smart Mary collided soon after the start. Down Mexico Way checked off Smart Mary approaching the first turn. Zipping Dusty, Boston Quay, Down Mexico Way, Aston Squire and Major Bourbski collided on the first turn checking Aston Squire, Down Mexico Way and Major Bourbski. Zipping Dusty and Onya Nelly collided on the second turn checking both greyhounds. Aston Squire and Down Mexico Way collided approaching the third turn.
