Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8. Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff, at all times.

Madalia Phoebe was slow to begin.  Broadway Benny and Sassy Keats collided soon after the start and again on the first turn checking Broadway Benny.  Sassy Keats checked off Fenway Lights on the first turn.  Sassy Keats and Drakari collided on the home turn.

Wee Gem was quick to begin.  Lika Lottie and Hint Of Magic were slow to begin.  Take A Lily and Electrifying collided soon after the start checking Take A Lily.  Wee Gem and Electrifying collided on the first turn severely checking Wee Gem.  Lika Lottie and Take A Lily collided on the first turn severely checking Take A Lily which contacted the running rail as a result.  Wee Gem, Lika Lottie and Hint Of Magic collided on the first turn severely checking all three greyhounds.  Electrifying and Declassified collided approaching the home turn.  Electrifying galloped on Declassified approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Lika Lottie checked off Take A Lily entering the home straight.

Wild Card checked off Our Katie Rose approaching the first turn.  Omega Tyson galloped on Our Katie Rose on the first turn checking Our Katie Rose, Omega Tyson, Wild Card and Tiger Titan.  Our Katie Rose checked off Aston Vuitton on the home turn.

Mad Eye Madam, Big Coin Buddy and Invictus Tilly were slow to begin.  Mad Eye Madam and Big Coin Buddy collided soon after the start.  Honours, Black Que and She Wiggles collided on the first turn checking Honours, Speedy Bella, Mad Eye Madam and Big Coin Buddy.  Speedy Bella and Invictus Tilly collided on the home turn.

Destini Trucker was quick to begin.  Bush Bro checked off Mepunga Billy approaching the first turn.  Mepunga Billy checked off Destini Trucker approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking Bush Bro.  Spotted Panther and Duke Of Airly collided entering the home straight.

St. Leo, Hird From Bucks and Ear We Come were slow to begin.  Hird From Bucks and Ear We Come collided soon after the start checking Ear We Come.  What's Up Skip and Mombasa collided on the first turn checking What's Up Skip and Party Mix.  What's Up Skip galloped on Mombasa on the first turn checking Mombasa.  Party Mix checked off Mombasa approaching the home turn.  What's Up Skip checked off Soda King approaching the home turn.

Spolly's Buddy – Late scratching at 10.40am due to the greyhound no arrival (GAR 31). A 28 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr Steven Spoljaric was fined $100.

A pre-race sample was taken from Charango.

Charango checked off Dream Gem on the first turn.  Dream Gem, Zipping Pink and Champagne Rose collided on the first turn checking Dream Gem and Zipping Pink.  Moroka Magic checked off Zipping Pink on the second turn.  Dream Gem and Moroka Magic collided on the second turn checking Moroka Magic. Dream Gem marred Zipping Pink approaching the winning post. 

Stewards spoke to Mrs Lesley Russell, the handler of Dream Gem regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Dream Gem was charged with marring. Mrs Russell pleaded guilty to the charge, Dream Gem is suspended for 3 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(b) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Supplementary  Report  Wednesday 8/4/20

The 28 stand down penalty was removed from the greyhound Spolly's Buddy on acceptrance for the reason for the non arrival. 

Omega Gringo and Diamond Duchess were slow to begin.  Aston Turbine and Tyson's Tiger collided soon after the start checking Aston Turbine.  Private and Tyson's Tiger collided on the first turn checking Tyson's Tiger, All Hollywood and Omega Gringo; Omega Gringo and Diamond Duchess collided as a result.  Tyson's Tiger raced wide on the home turn.  Aston Turbine visible turned its head on the home turn and collided with Private.  Aston Turbine crossed in in the home straight and collided with Private.

Aston Turbine underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle muscle injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative Ms Tanya Sincock, regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Aston Turbine was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Ms Sincock pleaded guilty to the charge, Aston Turbine must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Frankie Fever, Riverside Dash and Bulk Billed collided soon after the start checking Riverside Dash.  Frankie Fever checked off Hurry Harry on the first turn checking Bulk Billed.  Hurry Harry and Aston Asahi collided on the first turn checking Hurry Harry.  Hurry Harry and Aston Asahi collided in the home straight.

A sample was taken from Refresh upon arrival at the course.

Speed Force checked off Refresh soon after the start.  Refresh checked off Quick Paws on the first turn.  Soda Maxi clipped the heels of Golden Night on the first turn checking Golden Night, Soda Maxi, Refresh and Speed Force.  Tamou Bale checked off Quick Paws approaching the home turn. Golden Night and Quick Paws collided approaching the home turn.
