Steward's Report
Spolly's Buddy – Late scratching at 10.40am due to the greyhound no arrival (GAR 31). A 28 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr Steven Spoljaric was fined $100.
A pre-race sample was taken from Charango.
Charango checked off Dream Gem on the first turn. Dream Gem, Zipping Pink and Champagne Rose collided on the first turn checking Dream Gem and Zipping Pink. Moroka Magic checked off Zipping Pink on the second turn. Dream Gem and Moroka Magic collided on the second turn checking Moroka Magic. Dream Gem marred Zipping Pink approaching the winning post.
Stewards spoke to Mrs Lesley Russell, the handler of Dream Gem regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Dream Gem was charged with marring. Mrs Russell pleaded guilty to the charge, Dream Gem is suspended for 3 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(b) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Dream Gem - the winner of the event.
Supplementary Report Wednesday 8/4/20
The 28 stand down penalty was removed from the greyhound Spolly's Buddy on acceptrance for the reason for the non arrival.
