Steward's Report

Callow Street and Black Canvas were slow to begin.

Screen Shot and Zipping Clifford collided soon after the start. Omar Little, Mepunga Holly and Callow Street collided soon after the start checking Omar Little and Mepunga Holly. Callow Street checked off Screen Shot approaching the first turn. Omar Little checked off Screen Shot approaching the first turn. Callow Street tired in the home straight and was tailed off as a result.

Up and About underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left back muscle injury and a right triangle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Howat, trainer of Callow Street regarding the nomination of the greyhound in this event. Mr. Howat stated that his first nomination for Callow Street was for a maiden race however as this did not occur he was graded into this special event. Stewards took no further action against Callow Street after taking into account the injury sustained and that Mr. Howat stated that the greyhound will only continue to be entered for maiden racing.

A post-race sample was taken from Zipping Clifford - the winner of the event.
