A pre-race sample was taken from Buddy Boy Turbo.
Buddy Boy Turbo, Speedy Jack and Flying Yuna were slow to begin.
Valeera and Cyclone Arrow collided soon after the start checking Valeera. Fairytale Wish and Buddy Boy Turbo collided on the first turn checking Fairytale Wish. Flying Yuna and Fairytale Wish collided approaching the home turn severely checking Flying Yuna and Valeera. Jackson County and Cyclone Arrow collided on the home turn. Cyclone Arrow and Jackson County collided in the home straight.
Flying Yuna underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left carpal spike wound. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
