Jonty Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have abraisions to the front left leg and a left hindleg thigh injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Blackpool Doc and Cherokee Cat collided soon after the start checking Cherokee Cat and Why Not Pockets. Rodrigo Bale, Blackpool Doc and Spring Hummer collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking all three greyhounds. Fleur Burger and Blackpool Doc collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn.

Why Not Pockets underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a superficial wound to the roof of the mouth. No stand down period was imposed. Mr. L. Carter, trainer of Why Not Pockets, advised Stewards that the muzzle of the greyhound had become caught in its mouth during the running of the event. 

A false start was declared for this event, pursuant to GAR 56(1), due to the green light not being activated prior to the lure run-up. The lure was pulled up before reaching the starting boxes and the start was aborted. All greyhounds were removed from the boxes, underwent an examination by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and were passed fit to race. The lure was returned to its original starting position.

Southwood Ace was slow to begin.

Winsome Express checked off Tibby Shore in the home straight.

Following this event, Stewards spoke to Starter D. Todd, in relation to the false start and advised him the matter would be referred to the Club Manager for further consideration and remediation.
