Young Rachel crossed to the outside soon after the start and raced wide for the remainder of the event. Shimmy Dat Ray and Tim Tam Sam collided soon after the start. Monkey Mite checked off Down Mexico Way approaching the 300m mark. Tim Tam Sam checked off Shimmy Dat Ray at the 300m mark. Shimmy Dat Ray, Monkey Mite and Down Mexico Way collided at the 250m mark. Monkey Mite and Down Mexico Way collided at the 100m mark checking Down Mexico Way.
Young Rachel underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
