Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Showboat Capers.
Showboat Capers and Maximum Tiff collided approaching the first turn, checking Maximum Tiff. Simmo Gogolac and Dusseldorp collided approaching the home turn, checking both greyhounds. Showboat Capers turned its head outwards and collided with Simmo Gogolac in the home straight.
Showboat Capers underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hindleg back muscle injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr J Stemmer regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Showboat Capers was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Stemmer pleaded guilty to the charge, Showboat Capers must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
