Weblec Haze and Bronski Beat were slow to begin.
Bronski Beat and Elle Est Bonne collided soon after the start. Weblec Haze and Bronski Beat collided soon after the start. Weblec Haze and Elle Est Bonne collided approaching the first turn checking Elle Est Bonne. Bronski Beat and Jackson's River collided on the first turn. Rik Lee lost ground on the first turn. Bronski Beat and Elle Est Bonne collided on the third turn. Bronski Beat galloped on Timmy Tunga on the home turn. Bronski Beat, Elle Est Bonne and Jackson's River collided on the home turn checking Bronski Beat and Jackson's River.
Rik Lee underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have minor discomfort to the left and right hind toes. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr D. Langley regarding Rik Lee's performance on the first turn. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Rik Lee must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted. Acting under GAR 75 (1) Stewards ordered Mr Langley to report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected the running of Rik Lee in the event which was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event.
