A sample was taken from Down Mexico Way upon arrival at the course.
A pre-race sample was taken from Ryder Sir.
What's Up Skip, Calfuray and Inter Joe collided soon after the start checking What's Up Skip and Calfuray. By Your Side and Ryder Sir collided at the 300m mark. Calfuray visibly eased at the 100m mark and subsequently pulled up. By Your Side and Macs Model collided at the 100m mark checking What's Up Skip causing Macs Model to stumble and lost ground.
Calfuray underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left quadricep injury, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr D. Kerr regarding the greyhounds racing manners at the 100m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Calfuray was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Kerr pleaded not guilty to the charge, Calfuray was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
