Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Borg, trainer of Sweet Impala regarding the circumstances pertaining to the scratching of the greyhound. Mr. Borg stated that he checked Sweet Impala yesterday and again this morning and found the greyhound to have a hock injury. Mr. Borg added that he would likely give Sweet Impala an extended period of time to recover from it's injury. Stewards noted Mr. Borg's comments and took no further action.
Acting in accordance with the GRV Lightning and Thunderstorm Safety Procedure, racing was suspended at 5.27pm due to thunder and lightning strikes within the designated safety zone around the Warrnambool Track. Due to safety concerns Stewards called an idenfinite delay. After consultation with the Weather Bureau all races went back one race with Race 12 re-scheduled to start at 9.32pm.
Simon Told Helen was quick to begin. Selynya Teddy was slow to begin.
Selynya Teddy and Moonie Convoy collided on the first turn checking Moonie Convoy.
A post-race sample was taken from Simon Told Helen - the winner of the event.
