Steward's Report
Jack Of Hearts and Pirate Pete were slow to begin.
Nifty Nelly and Crown Polly collided approaching the first turn. Shared Colour and Magic Marcia collided several times approaching the first turn. Pirate Pete, Shared Colour and Magic Marcia collided approaching the first turn. Shared Colour checked off Magic Marcia on the first turn. Crown Polly galloped on the heels of Magic Marcia on the first turn checking Crown Polly, Magic Marcia and Jack Of Hearts. Crown Polly fell as a result. Magic Marcia checked off Jack Of Hearts approaching the winning post.
Crown Polly underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left foreleg shoulder injury, and left hindleg thigh injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Magic Marcia underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to representative/owner Mr D. McKenzie regarding the greyhound's racing manner approaching the winning post. After considering the evidence from Mr McKenzie, watching the official replays (head on and side on) and acting on their own observations Stewards accepted the explanation of Mr McKenzie and no action was taken against the greyhound.
