Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Crackerjack Soc.
Fernando's Flare and Dream Wizard collided soon after the start, checking Fernando's Flare. Princess Ollie checked of the heels of Baileys On Ice on the first turn. Dream Wizard turned it's head outward in the home straight. Princess Ollie and Lektra Rainbow collided approaching the winning post.
Princess Ollie underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a cervico/thoracic injury, left shoulder. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Dream Wizard underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr.S. Lithgow, the trainer of Dream Wizard regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Dream Wizard was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. S.Lithgow pleaded not guilty to the charge, Dream Wizard was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
