A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Blue Dragon, a post-race sample was subsequently taken.
Invictus Ryder, Mahogany Queen, Six Big Boys and Rayner were slow to begin.
Six Big Boys checked off Blue Dragon approaching the first turn. Invictus Ryder, Mahogany Queen and Not All Over collided approaching the first turn, checking Mahogany Queen and Not All Over. Blue Dragon and Rayner collided on the first turn, checking Blue Dragon, Rayner and Six Big Boys; Blue Dragon lost ground as a result. Invictus Ryder raced wide approaching the home turn. Six Big Boys checked off Crypto Geek in the home straight. Crypto Geek checked off Mahogany Queen approaching the winning post.
Stewards spoke to Mr W Donlon, the trainer of Blue Dragon, regarding its performance in this event. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Blue Dragon must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
