Mt. View Dream was slow to begin.
Just Like Jessie and Spanish Paso collided several times from soon after the start to the 250m mark. Runaway Queen checked off American Missile at the 200m mark. Robbing faltered at the 150m mark. Runaway Queen crossed to the inside approaching the 100m mark and checked off the heels of Just Like Jessie. Willy Eve marred American Missile approaching the 50m mark. Spanish Paso marred Willy Eve approaching the winning post.
Robbing underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have right foreleg chest muscle and cervico injuries. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Willy Eve underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right foreleg wrist injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr J Bowman, the trainer of Willy Eve regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the 50m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Willy Eve was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Bowman pleaded guilty to the charge, Willy Eve is suspended for 28 days at Healesville and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Spanish Paso underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg hip injury, a seven day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr A Rocke regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Spanish Paso was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Rocke pleaded guilty to the charge, Spanish Paso must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
