Steward's Report
This race was delayed by approximately 8 minutes due to initial delays following a thunderstorm, and again further delayed after the boxes opened prematurely once the amber light had been activated. As a result, Shining and Lady Bang Bang ran a short distance before being caught; both greyhounds were vetted and passed fit to race. Due to this malfunction, Stewards directed that the race be started manually.
Romanova was slow to begin.
Romanova and Lady Bang Bang collided on the third turn. Bubbles tired over the concluding stages of the event.
Bubbles underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound on the right hind paw. No stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Kiomara- the winner of the event.
Stewards spoke to Ms Karen Leek, the trainer of Bubbles regarding the greyhound's performance over the concluding stages of the event. Ms Leek stated that she felt that Bubbles was capable of running the 699m, however after tonight's performance she will likely keep him to slightly shorter distances in future events.
