Lektra Flirt – New declared weight of 27.8 kgs, last raced at 26.6 kgs.
Faster Bolt and Destini Cheetah were slow to begin.
Faster Bolt checked off Dana Crazy on the first turn. Dana Crazy and Tiggerlong Ring collided on the first turn, checking Dana Crazy, Faster Bolt, Destini Cheetah and Pyrenees Inferno; and severely checking Tiggerlong Ring, which fell as a result. Lektra Flirt checked off Lilly An' Page in the home straight. Lilly An' Page visably eased and turned its head inwards approaching the winning post.
Tiggerlong Ring underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Lilly An' Page underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have right foreleg nail injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Joshua McDonald, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Lilly An' Page was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr McDonald pleaded guilty to the charge, Lilly An' Page must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
