Steward's Report
Trainer Matthew Lanigan advised Stewards that Blue Glitter was scratched in accordance with the rules after the greyhound was found to be suffering an illness.
Stewrds spoke to Ms K. Houlahan, the handler of Sergeant Schultz regarding the number of starts the greyhound has had between 30th June to the 11th July.(12 days --4 starts). Ms Houlahan stated the greyhound has been lightly exercised between races, and in her opinion was fit for racing, she also added the greyhound has been placed at 3 out of his last 4 starts.
Gai Keeping and Taylor Bale collided approaching the first turn checking Gai Keeping and severely checking Taylor Bale. Sergeant Schultz and Summer Skye collided on the home turn.
Taylor Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the left monkey muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Zipping Mack - the winner of the event.
