The Stewards opened an inquiry into the late scratching of Shamrock Lava at 9.08am this morning, only a short time after scratchings closed. After hearing submissions, Mr Purcell acknowledged an offence under GAR 23 (1) (a) for failing to examine Shamrock Lava prior to the close of scratchings to ensure he was free of illness or injury. A fine of $200 was issued. Due to the circumstances in the commission of the offence and Mr Pursell's candor in dealing with Stewards, $100 was suspended for 6 months.  

Mr Purcell was also queried about the prospects and betting activity for He's an Ace (8) after significant support was identified by the GRV Betting Analyst throughout the day. Mr Pursell thought the greyhound would perform very well first up and had trialled well in preperation. Mr Pursell supported He’s An Ace as did connections and associates due to this confidence.

Stewards spoke to Mrs R. Kenyon , the trainer of Zenisha Bale regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Zenisha Bale was charged with marring. Mrs R. Kenyon pleaded guilty to the charge, Zenisha Bale is suspended for 28 days at Geelong and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

So Much Mojo underwent a post-race veterinary examination after an incident with the finish on lure. So Much Mojo was found to have a laceration to the lower left jaw. No stand down period was imposed.

Man Absconded and Young Jebrynah were quick to begin.  Foul Snooker and Harrell Bale were slow to begin.  

Global Ruler and Foul Snooker collided approaching the first turn, checking Global Ruler.  Habib, Phoebe's Angel and Mysterious Mara collided on the first turn, checking Mysterious Mara.  Global Ruler checked off Habib approaching the home turn.  Global Ruler crossed to the outside on the home turn.  Habib and Mysterious Mara collided entering the home straight.  Global Ruler, Young Jebrynah and Harrell Bale raced wide in the home straight.

Mid Life Crisis and Lava You Beauty collided on the first turn, severely checking Mid Life Crisis who contacted the running rail as a result and severely checked Crackerjack Ale. 

Mid Life Crisis underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg back muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Locked In and Saetta were quick to begin.  Living Daylights and Go Commando were slow to begin. 

Origami Angel and Locked In collided soon after the start. Sergeant Schultz crossed to the outside on the first turn.  Origami Angel and Locked In collided on the first turn.  Origami Angel and Sergeant Schultz raced wide on the home turn.  Living Daylights and Sergeant Schultz raced wide in the home straight.  Sergeant Schultz lost ground in the home straight. 

Sergeant Schultz was dissapointing and vetted as a result and then re-vetted after race 11. No apparent injury could be detected. Stewards spoke with the kennel representative Mr Glen Maxwell and discussed the performance. After considering the matter, the Stewards felt the performance was not so unsatisfactory so as to fall under GAR 71 but rather requested connections to advise of any other matters in the coming days in accordance with GAR 75, that come to light. The Stewards willl also monitor future performances.
